Venezuela, Iran, Ukraine, Israel, Gaza, Cuba - Lavrov spoke at the UN
The Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs took the podium on one of the final days of the General Assembly and sharply condemned the US and the West. He criticized the kidnapping of Maduro and his wife, demanding that Washington release them. He also referred to the elimination of Iran's supreme leader and military leadership as an event completely contrary to international law.

At the beginning of his speech, he praised the SCO, BRICS, and the CIS, intending to say that those united in these structures are now assuming international responsibility, while Western hegemony is a thing of the past.
The Russian Foreign Minister sharply criticized the US operation in Venezuela. According to Lavrov, this is absolutely illegal.
"Contrary to moral norms, the US invaded Venezuela, as a result of which President Maduro and his spouse were kidnapped and held in an American prison without trial. This happened despite the fact that international law clearly indicates that the highest-ranking state officials of any country must have immunities. We demand the immediate release of the Venezuelan leader and his spouse, and that such extreme actions are not repeated," Lavrov said.
He also stressed that the use of force to assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his family members, as well as representatives of the military and political leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran, is unacceptable.
According to the Russian representative, the peace plan in Gaza is not working at all.
"Almost a year ago, the Security Council approved a peace plan for the Gaza Strip, but peace does not reign there. Elderly people, women, and children continue to die there. The humanitarian situation is dire. The situation in the West Bank continues to deteriorate, where Israel is intensifying its settlement construction activities. If the situation continues, it will be impossible to establish a Palestinian state, there will be no space left. But if so, Israel's security will also be under constant threat," Lavrov says.
In his speech, the Russian representative also touched upon the situation in Cuba, stating that Moscow is always by Cuba's side.
"Urgent measures must be taken to address the terrible humanitarian situation in Cuba. We stand with the Cuban people and their government. We call on the US to lift the blockade on the island and remove all restrictions on trade with Cuba, and to remove it from that heinous list, the list of state sponsors of terrorism," Lavrov said.
The minister added that the biggest culprit for the continuation of the war in Ukraine is Europe. They are doing everything they can to cancel Trump's peace negotiations.
