Variable skies and rain in places on Monday

Rain is forecast in a number of areas on Monday, Oct. 12, with a danger of mudflows and flash floods in foothill and mountainous regions, Uzhydromet said in its forecast.

Intermittent rain is expected in Tashkent city and in the country’s foothill and mountainous areas, where it may be heavy in some places. In the high mountains, it could change to snow, the forecaster said.

Showers are expected in some places in Bukhara, Navoi, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Andijan, Namangan and Fergana provinces. Light rain is forecast in some places in Tashkent, Syrdarya, Jizzakh and Samarkand provinces. No precipitation is expected in the Republic of Karakalpakstan or Khorezm province.

Westerly winds will turn easterly in most areas, with speeds of 7-12 meters per second. In Tashkent city, winds will be westerly at 3-8 meters per second.

Nighttime temperatures will be 5-10 degrees Celsius in the mountains and 12-17 degrees in Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Andijan, Namangan and Fergana provinces. Daytime temperatures will reach 23-28 degrees in Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya provinces and 21-26 degrees in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm. In Tashkent, daytime temperatures will be 19-21 degrees. Mountain areas will have highs of 7-12 degrees.
