Uzhydromet forecasts incoming cooler front to break high temperatures across Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is poised for a weekend shift towards cooler weather, as Uzhydromet predicts an end to the current heatwave.

On July 31, most of Uzbekistan will experience scorching temperatures, with daytime highs ranging from 38°C to 41°C. Southern, northern, and desert regions are expected to be even hotter, reaching 42°C to 43°C. These temperatures are approximately 2°C to 4°C higher than the typical climate for late July and early August.

The intense heat is projected to continue across the majority of the republic on August 1 and 2, with northwestern areas being the first to experience some relief. The weekend forecast indicates clear to partly cloudy skies with no rain. By the following week, the temperature decrease will extend throughout all of Uzbekistan.

Certain parts of the country may see winds pick up, reaching speeds of 13 to 18 meters per second, which could lead to localized dust storms.

Tashkent is expected to have mostly clear skies and no precipitation. From July 31 to August 2, the capital's daytime temperatures will range from 37°C to 40°C, with nighttime lows falling to between 23°C and 26°C.

Looking further ahead, cooler air masses are anticipated to arrive in Uzbekistan towards the end of August, gradually bringing daytime temperatures down to a more pleasant 25°C to 30°C.
