"Uzbekneftegaz" reported that it did not receive Saneg assets

JSC "Uzbekneftegaz" did not receive assets or shares of the private company Sanoat Energetika Guruhi (Saneg) after the cancellation of part of its licenses for the use of oil and gas fields.

Representatives of the state company stated this on October 27 at a press conference dedicated to the results of work for nine months.

A journalist asked a question about who currently exercises operational and financial management of the fields after the revocation of the licenses. Abrorjon Khudoyberganov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the company for refining, stressed that "Uzbekneftegaz" is not connected with Saneg. "Saneg is a separate organization. It is not under our subordination, and we have no cooperation with it in this area. This information was not published by us. I think it would be more correct to contact the department that released it," he said.

According to Khudoyberganov, after the announcement of the cancellation of licenses, no assets or shares of Saneg were transferred to the state company. At the same time, "Uzbekneftegaz" did not specify who is currently managing the fields and whether there are plans to transfer the rights to their development to other companies.

The revocation of licenses was reported on October 8 by Sokhibjon Murodov, Director of the State Assets Management Agency.

As the reason, he cited non-compliance with license conditions and the lack of commercial development of subsoil plots. "As far as I know, these fields were not put into circulation, and the license conditions were not fulfilled. Therefore, to date, [the licenses] have been canceled. Now the Ministry of Geology is developing measures for their effective use," Murodov stated.

The head of the agency clarified that the fields were not transferred to private ownership: Saneg received licenses for the right to use the subsoil.

Murodov did not report how many licenses were revoked, which fields were affected, when the decisions were made, and how many plots remain in the company's use.
