Uzbekistan’s Unigroup Navoiy begins shipments from new $60mn production facility

Unigroup Navoiy has launched shipments from its new manufacturing facility in Uzbekistan’s Navoi region, with the first consignment of more than 25,000 hair care products sent to a distributor for sale on the domestic market.

The initial shipment was dispatched on September 22 from the enterprise set up in Navoi Industrial Park in the Navoi Free Economic Zone. The start of deliveries signals a new phase in the commissioning of the facility and the localization of production in Uzbekistan. Total investment in the project stands at $60mn. When the plant reaches its designed capacity, it will be able to produce up to 85mn units a year.

Production is being brought online in stages. Three of the seven planned production lines are now operating. Two more lines are due to start by the end of 2026, while the remaining lines are expected to be commissioned in 2027.

This phased expansion is expected to raise output and enable the company to expand the assortment of products made at the facility. The first batch has been delivered to Uzbekistan’s domestic market, with exports planned for a later stage. According to the project’s development plans, products made at Unigroup Navoiy are expected to be supplied to Central Asian countries and other international markets once production capacity grows.

The facility is also meant to boost manufacturing localization and bring modern production technologies to the Navoi region. The planned shift from domestic sales to foreign markets is expected to strengthen the region’s export capacity.

With three production lines already in operation and four more set to be commissioned through 2027, the enterprise is advancing toward its planned annual output of 85mn units.
