Uzbekistan’s EV registry rises by nearly 67% in one year

Uzbekistan had 122,700 registered electric vehicles as of July 1, 2026, the National Statistics Agency said in a report.

That compares with 73,600 registrations on July 1, 2025, an increase of 49,100 vehicles over the year, or 66.7%.

A regional breakdown shows a wide gap in EV adoption across the country:

Tashkent city dominates the domestic green market by a large margin, making up more than 72% of all registered electric vehicles in the country. Far behind are Tashkent province with 9,546 units, or 7.8%, and Samarkand province with 4,870 units, or 3.9%. At the other end of the scale, three provinces have yet to pass the 1,000-vehicle mark: Syrdarya with 993 units, Jizzakh with 701, and Surxondaryo with 429.
