According to the Central Bank's consumer sentiment review for the second quarter of 2026, the consumer sentiment of the population remained positive. Around 4,100 respondents participated in the survey conducted in July.

The income sub-index stood at 71.3 points. 66 percent of the survey participants expected their income to increase in the future, while 25 percent expected it to remain unchanged. The share of those who expected their income to decrease was 9 percent. The expenditure sub-index reached 77.2 points. 76 percent of the respondents expected their expenses to increase in the future. Home renovation, education, and medical treatment remained the main areas of expenditure.

High demand for credit

In the second quarter, the credit sub-index recorded 65.3 points. Although this is 0.2 points lower compared to the first quarter, the population's need for credit remained at a high level.

Particularly, among the population with a monthly income of 3–10 million soums, the share of those who expected their need for credit to increase in the future was 57–59 percent.

The population plans to use credit funds mainly for home renovation, education, and other needs. Weddings, cars, and medical treatment expenses also remained important areas for credit utilization.

Saving income

The savings sub-index was 69.2 points. Despite a decrease of 1.4 points compared to the first quarter, the indicator was nearly 1 point higher than the level of the same period last year.

64.3 percent of the survey participants expected their savings to increase in the future. 23.3 percent stated that their savings would remain unchanged, while 12.4 percent indicated they would decrease.

In the first half of 2026, the balance of population deposits increased by 38 percent annually. The growth of the balance of time deposits in the national currency amounted to 25.6 percent. Additionally, 66.6 percent of the respondents expected the country's economic situation to improve in the coming period.
