Uzbekistan Soum Deposit Rates Fall to 17.6% in June

The average nominal interest rate on national currency term deposits in Uzbekistan fell to 17.6% in June 2026, according to the Central Bank.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) – According to data from the Central Bank, the mean nominal interest rate for term deposits in Uzbekistan's national currency decreased to 17.6% by the close of June 2026. This represents a 2.1 percentage point reduction when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

Concurrently, as inflationary trends stabilize, the real interest rates on soum-denominated term deposits are maintaining a comparatively elevated position.

For individual depositors, the real interest rate reached 8.3%, marking an increase of 1.1 percentage points over June 2025.

Conversely, for legal entities, this figure was recorded at 4.9%, indicating a 0.5 percentage point decline year-over-year.

The average nominal interest rate for foreign currency term deposits registered at 4.5%, a marginal decrease of 0.1 percentage points from June of the prior year.
