Uzbekistan was among the countries that sold gold most actively in July

In July 2026, the world's central banks collectively purchased 23 tons of gold.

The largest buyers of the precious metal were China, which bought 20 tons, and Poland, which increased its reserves by 8 tons. At the same time, a number of countries acted as sellers. In particular, Russia sold 6 tons of gold during the month. The sellers also included the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, as well as the regulators of Turkey and Jordan, which sold 1 ton each.

Since the beginning of the year, net gold purchases by global regulators have amounted to about 130 tons. For comparison, during the same period of 2025, this figure was at approximately 160 tons.
