Uzbekistan proposed a joint industrial projects program to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Uzbekistan has proposed developing a joint program of industrial projects for the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Tashkent has also put forward a number of new proposals in the areas of digitalization, energy, employment, and tourism.

These initiatives were announced by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, which took place on August 6-7 in the Kyrgyz city of Cholpon-Ata. Uzbekistan participated in the event as an observer state. During the meeting, Aripov also participated in a meeting between Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and the heads of government of the EAEU countries.

Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Uzbek government proposed creating a common industrial cooperation program. He stated that the agreements reached at the "Innoprom. Central Asia" exhibition, which was held in Tashkent this spring, could serve as the basis for this program. The program is proposed to include specific joint projects, production sites, partner companies, and financing mechanisms.

Uzbekistan also proposed creating a unified digital space to simplify trade transactions between EAEU countries. It proposes establishing data exchange between regulatory authorities and ensuring the mutual recognition of electronic documents.

Aripov placed particular emphasis on the "green" transformation of industry. He noted that the union's countries should form a joint portfolio of projects aimed at improving energy efficiency, implementing environmentally friendly technologies, and using artificial intelligence-based solutions for energy management.

Another initiative was the proposal to integrate Uzbekistan's national digital employment platform with the EAEU system. This is expected to facilitate labor mobility for citizens. To launch the project, the Uzbek side expressed its willingness to begin consultations with the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Tashkent also proposed expanding cooperation in tourism. The "Central Asian Tourism Ring" initiative envisions the creation of cross-border tourist routes and a unified calendar of events.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the proposals presented are aimed at developing practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EAEU countries and are a continuation of initiatives previously put forward by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

At a meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, the heads of government also discussed the development of joint projects in industry and agriculture, as well as access to support and financing mechanisms for the union's countries.

Japarov also announced that the next Eurasian Economic Forum will be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2027 and proposed inviting partner countries and international organizations to participate.

As a reminder, Uzbekistan's total portfolio of joint projects with the EAEU countries currently exceeds $50 billion.
