Uzbekistan joins the UN Convention on Mediation
Uzbekistan has acceded to the United Nations Convention on the Protection of International Settlements Resulting from Mediation. The law on this was signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on August 14, 2026.

Uzbekistan has become a member of the UN Convention on Mediation.
In accordance with Law No. ZUR-1167, Uzbekistan’s accession to the United Nations Convention on International Settlements Resulting from Mediation was approved. This convention was adopted in New York on December 20, 2018.
According to the law, Uzbekistan has established two important conditions for accession to the convention:
1. The provisions of the convention do not apply to settlement agreements in which the Republic of Uzbekistan or its government institution, as well as a person acting on behalf of a government institution, are parties.
2. Uzbekistan applies the convention only in cases where the participants in the settlement agreement agree to its application.
This law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on August 4, 2026 and approved by the Senate on August 8. The document was signed by the President on August 14.
