Uzbekistan leads the region in the venture capital market, but...
In the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan ranked first in the number of venture capital deals among CIS countries, excluding Russia. 44 deals were concluded in the country, while the total number of deals in the region amounted to 58. This means Uzbekistan's share reached 76 percent.
During the same period, the capital of venture funds in Uzbekistan also increased by 30 million dollars.
Several large funds are actively participating in the Uzbek venture market. Yoshlar Ventures participated in 13 deals, Aloqa Ventures in 11, IT Park Ventures in 10, and Imkon Ventures in 7 deals.
The majority of the deals involve newly established startups or those in the early stages of development.
In the first half of 2026, three M&A or exit deals were recorded in CIS countries, excluding Russia. All of them were accounted for by Kazakhstan.
Although Uzbekistan is the clear leader in the region in terms of the number of deals, it has not yet shown significant results in exit processes.
According to experts, the next task for Uzbekistan's venture market is to increase the volume of investments while expanding exit opportunities for investors.
Developing mechanisms such as M&A, IPO, and secondary sales of shares can facilitate the recycling of capital invested in startups.
