Uzbekistan, India Prepare Iron, Coal and Copper Projects

Uzbekistan and India are poised to launch collaborative ventures focused on iron, coal, and copper, with a cooperation agreement also in the pipeline, as announced by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining and Geological Industry, Bobur Islamov, on O’zbekiston 24 television.

Islamov highlighted the arrival in Uzbekistan of prominent Indian business figures and scientific delegates, whose specialized knowledge is expected to facilitate the integration of innovative practices within the mining sector.

"We are jointly developing new projects by examining the opportunities available to us. This presents a significant opportunity for us, and I believe we will capitalize on it fully," Islamov stated.

The minister confirmed that the two nations plan to undertake new initiatives for the extraction of iron ore and coal, alongside exploration efforts for copper.

He underscored India's considerable expertise in ferrous metallurgy, noting its status as a leading global producer of ferrous metals.

Islamov concluded, "Leveraging this, we have invited them to develop promising regions."
