Uzbekistan has restricted imports of poultry products from Polskamp B.V.

Uzbekistan has introduced a temporary restriction on the import of all poultry products from the Dutch company Polskamp B.V. This measure was taken to ensure food safety and protect public health.

The basis for the restriction was official information from the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), published on July 30, 2026.

According to RASFF, the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella Typhimurium was detected in poultry products produced by Polskamp B.V. It poses a threat to human and animal health.

In this regard, veterinary control will be strengthened at state border checkpoints. The measure is aimed at preventing potentially salmonella-contaminated products from entering circulation in the territory of Uzbekistan.

Salmonella Typhimurium belongs to group two hazard infections and is the causative agent of non-typhoidal salmonellosis. The disease can manifest as diarrhea and fever, and in severe cases, lead to sepsis.

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) also classifies salmonella as a pathogen posing a serious zoonotic threat to public health. The organization emphasizes the need for constant monitoring of the spread of such infections.

The temporary restriction on the import of Polskamp B.V. products will remain in effect until the safety of the enterprise's products is confirmed in accordance with the established procedure.

Importing business entities are advised to strictly comply with current requirements in the field of veterinary and food safety.
