Uzbekistan has launched official websites for the Alcohol and Tobacco Market Regulation Inspectorate.

Official online resources for the inspectorate responsible for regulating the alcohol and tobacco market have been launched in Uzbekistan.
The Inspectorate for Regulation of the Alcohol and Tobacco Market, operating under the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Prosecutor General's Office, announced the launch of its official website and pages on popular social media platforms.
These new platforms will provide up-to-date information on compliance with the law, protecting the interests of both entrepreneurs and consumers, licensing procedures for the production and wholesale distribution of alcohol and tobacco products, and the implementation of programs aimed at developing this industry.
In addition, the inspectorate plans to cover issues related to excise policy, measures to maintain competition, the implementation of modern information systems, and the detection of violations and hidden economic activity. Risk analysis and ongoing market monitoring will be a separate, important focus area.
The inspectorate's official website is available to users in the Uzbek language. Its Telegram, Facebook, and Instagram pages were also launched.
Previously, Uzbekistan proposed increasing excise taxes on alcohol while simultaneously reducing retail prices. The Institute of Fiscal Studies, in particular, proposed setting a single excise tax rate of 70,000 soums per liter.
