Uzbekistan has established new requirements for fishing nets.

Uzbekistan has introduced new regulations regarding fishing nets.
The country has approved a national standard for fishing nets used in commercial fishing. This document regulates their dimensions, strength, and materials, and is designed to minimize the negative impact on aquatic ecosystems.
The standard was developed by the Department for the Development of Ecological Areas and Hunting under the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change. Following approval by the Standards Institute, the document was included in the National Standards Fund.
The new standards are expected to ensure that the nets meet specified technical specifications and enhance the protection of aquatic bioresources. An information campaign on the implementation of the standard will be conducted for fisheries enterprises and relevant organizations.
It is noted that the total water volume in the Northern Aral Sea has reached 23.4 billion cubic meters. Over the past ten months, approximately 1.2 billion cubic meters of water have entered the reservoir via the Syr Darya River.
