Uzbekistan Expands Export Logistics to Kuwait and Syria

Uzbekistan is developing new logistics corridors to Kuwait and Syria to improve export deliveries and strengthen access to Middle Eastern markets.

Uzbekistan is forging new international transport and logistics pathways to guarantee consistent delivery of its products to the markets of Kuwait and Syria.

This endeavor, spearheaded by Uzbekistan's Embassy, involves testing alternative shipping routes to broaden export prospects for the nation's manufacturers.

An early success of this initiative was the dispatch of carpets from Samarkand-based YEC Gilam to Kuwait's Montreal House Wholesale Co, utilizing the newly established logistics channel. Turkish logistics firm Gulf Cargo reports that this new corridor facilitates cargo delivery to Kuwait within 15 to 20 days.

Concurrently, Uzbekistan is investigating the feasibility of arranging shipments through Iraq. Discussions on this topic have taken place with pertinent government bodies and business representatives in Iraq. The Iraqi Ministry of Transport has indicated its willingness to engage in practical consultations involving relevant organizations from both nations.

Efforts are also progressing on the Syrian route. Following the inauguration of Uzbekistan's Trade House and Distribution Center in Aleppo in May of this year, new export agreements were finalized, resulting in the initial shipments of Uzbek vegetable oil, detergents, and household electrical appliances to Syria. These deliveries, routed through Turkey, typically take between 10 and 15 days.

These novel transport and logistics routes are anticipated to enable more dependable and competitively priced deliveries of Uzbek goods to Middle Eastern markets, thereby bolstering the country's export capabilities.
