Uzbekistan discussed the issue of renewing its locomotive fleet with Wabtec
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Rafael Santana, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of Wabtec.
During the meeting, taking into account the development of the country's railway infrastructure and transit potential, issues of renewing and expanding the locomotive fleet were considered.
Possibilities of supplying locomotives along with long-term maintenance services with the participation of US financial institutions were discussed.
Issues of establishing maintenance services, manufacturing components, and training specialists in Uzbekistan were also reviewed.
Special attention was also paid to the establishment of a service center providing maintenance for quarry equipment of mining enterprises, as well as cooperation on diesel-generator units.
