Uzbekistan Business Ombudsman takes 1,371 enforcement actions in 1H26

During the first half of 2026, the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights and Legitimate Interests of Business Entities under the President of Uzbekistan initiated 1,371 enforcement actions. These measures were undertaken in response to various infringements on entrepreneurs' rights, as reported by the Business Ombudsman's press service.

Among the actions taken, administrative protocols were the most frequent, totaling 865. The Business Ombudsman's office also formulated 185 legal opinions, submitted 138 official representations, issued 85 notifications, and lodged 98 claims and protests. The cumulative value of these claims reached UZS 24.1 billion, equivalent to more than $2 million.
