Uzbekistan and the United States held talks on cooperation in sports and preparations for the 2028 Olympic Games.
A meeting between the leadership of the Ministry of Sport and the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan and Paolo Zampolli, Special Representative of the US President, took place at the headquarters of the NOC of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation in sports. Also present were Vice President of the International Fencing Federation Ana Delgado and Representative of the US Embassy in Uzbekistan Eric Collins.
The participants exchanged views on strengthening international sports cooperation, expanding the exchange of experience, developing the Olympic movement, and implementing promising projects.
Particular attention was paid to preparations for the World Fencing Championships, which will be held in Tashkent next year, as well as ensuring the successful participation of the Uzbek delegation in the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
In conclusion, Paolo Zampolli congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th anniversary of the country's independence.
