Uzbekistan and the Samara region are expanding business cooperation.

An Uzbek-Samara business forum was held in Samara, resulting in the signing of a memorandum of cooperation and a number of commercial agreements, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan and the Samara Region Strengthen Business Ties

On August 7, an Uzbek-Samara business forum was held in Samara, aimed at further expanding cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Samara Region. Representatives of government agencies, business associations, and over 100 companies from both countries participated in the event, according to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

Uzbekistan was represented at the forum by Odilkhon Rustamov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Russia was represented by Valery Fomichev, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Samara Region.

Participants included companies operating in such industries as automotive, mechanical engineering, chemical, light and food industries, construction, transportation and logistics, information and communications technology, and tourism.

The forum discussed issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation, developing industrial cooperation, attracting investment, and increasing export volumes.

Speaking at the event, Odilkhon Rustamov announced that mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Russia will reach nearly US$13 billion by 2025. He also emphasized that more than 3,000 enterprises with Russian capital and over 40 special economic zones operate in Uzbekistan.

Following the forum, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Samara Region signed a memorandum of cooperation.

Furthermore, Samara entrepreneurs were presented with the opportunities offered by a free economic zone focused on the Afghan market. The parties also agreed to organize a visit by a business delegation from the Samara Region to Uzbekistan in September.

Following the B2B negotiations, a number of contracts and agreements were signed.
