Uzbekistan and the Philippines significantly increased their mutual trade volume, growing by 135.6%.

According to the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Ilzat Kasimov met with Philippine Ambassador to Uzbekistan Roberto Guterres Manalo on August 14. The parties discussed plans to expand trade and economic cooperation.

In the first six months of 2026, trade turnover between the two countries reached $3.3 million, a 135.6% increase compared to the same period last year.

During the talks, key areas for future cooperation were identified, including agriculture, mineral fertilizer supplies, information and communications technology, electrical engineering, transport, geology, and the textile industry.

Particular attention was paid to the formation of a Joint Economic Commission, the organization of a business forum in Manila, the development of direct air service, the training of qualified personnel, and cooperation in labor migration.

Following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue active work to increase mutual trade volumes and implement joint initiatives.
