Uzbekistan and the Pakistani industrial and business group Dewan Yousuf Group have discussed opportunities for implementing joint investment initiatives in the digital economy, as well as in the sugar and cement industries.

The talks between the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev and the head of the group Dewan Yousuf took place as part of expanding trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

One of the key topics of the meeting was interaction in the sphere of the digital economy and crypto infrastructure. Dewan Yousuf emphasized Uzbekistan's potential in the field of crypto assets and blockchain technologies and stated an interest in launching joint projects.

In particular, the Pakistani entrepreneur proposed considering opportunities to attract international digital asset funds, create modern digital platforms, and introduce energy-saving technologies in cryptocurrency mining.

The parties paid special attention to the prospects for cooperation in the sugar industry. The Pakistani company is exploring the option of importing raw materials, including from Brazil, processing them in Uzbekistan, and subsequently selling the finished products on the domestic market.

In this regard, the possible launch of a joint project using the production facilities of the Angren Sugar Plant was discussed.

The meeting participants also discussed cooperation in the cement industry and the development of trade and logistics ties between the two countries.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached for Dewan Yousuf Group to prepare detailed investment proposals.

For further development of the initiatives, online consultations are planned with the relevant ministries and agencies of Uzbekistan. In addition, the parties intend to organize a business mission of the Pakistani delegation to the republic to familiarize themselves with promising projects and explore opportunities for their implementation.

The Yousuf Dewan Companies group was founded in 1916 and is among the largest industrial and business conglomerates in Pakistan.

Its interests cover automotive manufacturing, cement and sugar production, the textile industry, synthetic fiber manufacturing, and foreign trade. The group's companies employ more than 4,000 people.
