Uzbekistan and Pakistan are preparing new trade projects

Uzbekistan and Pakistan are actively working to develop trade relations in preparation for the visit of the Uzbek government delegation and a business forum. These initiatives were the focus of discussions between Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjayev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Uzbekistan Muhammad Mudassir Tipu. During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail the organizational aspects of the Uzbek delegation's upcoming visit to Pakistan. The key event of the trip will be a business forum designed to bring together leading companies from both countries.

Khodjayev noted that Uzbekistan and Pakistan possess significant, yet untapped, potential for deepening trade, economic, investment, and industrial cooperation. He emphasized the importance of transforming existing opportunities into concrete projects, establishing direct business contacts, and optimizing trade routes.

Particular attention was paid to expanding the preferential trade regime between the two countries. Since August 14, this regime covers more than 80 commodity items.

The development of transport infrastructure and the creation of new transit corridors through Pakistan were also discussed. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, such routes will reduce delivery times and logistics costs, as well as provide Uzbek companies with greater access to South Asian markets.

The upcoming government delegation visit and business forum are expected to provide an important platform for strengthening direct business ties and identifying specific areas of trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
