Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan agree on next steps in territory exchange
A joint working group has been formed to deal with issues related to the citizenship of the residents of the exchanged territories, the organization of resettlement, the registration of property rights of citizens, land use, and social protection of the population.
Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed on the next steps in the exchange of territories.
A meeting of the joint working commission of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan was held in the Kadamjoy district of the Batken region. The organizational and technical aspects of the exchange of land plots were discussed.
The Kyrgyz delegation was headed by First Deputy Minister of Labor Kamchibek Dosmatov, and the Uzbek delegation was headed by First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Botir Kudratkhodjayev.
The parties discussed the implementation of previous agreements, in particular, the citizenship of the population of the exchanged territories, their resettlement, property and economic issues, and other issues.
At the end of the meeting, the composition of the joint working group consisting of representatives of the relevant ministries, departments and local authorities of the two countries was approved.
This group deals with issues related to the citizenship of the residents of the exchange territories, the organization of resettlement, the acceptance and transfer of state property, the registration of property rights of citizens, land use and social protection of the population. It also ensures the continuity of the educational process for the residents of these territories.
Representatives of the group visit the exchange territories and regularly inform the co-chairs of the commission about the work done and the results.
