Uzbekistan and Korea to expand digitalization of agriculture

Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea intend to deepen cooperation in the digitalization of the agricultural sector, the development of livestock farming, and the implementation of advanced agricultural services. Joint initiatives were discussed during meetings with representatives of the Korea Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers Association (KOAMI), Jeonbuk Technopark, and the South Korean company TYM.

One of the projects will establish a "Smart Livestock Farming" center in the Tashkent region, scheduled to launch in 2028–2030. This center will implement monitoring systems based on artificial intelligence, automated control, precision feeding, and digital control.

Furthermore, the parties discussed the digitalization of livestock farming and the expansion of the use of modern agricultural machinery. To improve the skills of personnel, training for 300 specialists in South Korea is planned.

A separate area of cooperation includes the testing of methane-powered tractors. A project to use such equipment in agricultural services has already been launched jointly with TYM. During the first stage, 37 tractors were delivered to Respublika Agroservis, whose performance will be studied over a two-year period. Based on the testing results, the possibility of localizing production of this equipment in Uzbekistan will be considered.

The implementation of these projects is expected to contribute to the digital transformation of agriculture and improve the industry's efficiency.
