Uzbekistan and Japan intend to further develop cooperation in the energy sector

Uzbekistan and Japan have agreed to continue close cooperation in the energy sector and promote mutually beneficial projects. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

On September 10, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Sherzod Khodjayev met with State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Kenji Yamada.

During the talks, the parties discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to energy as one of the key areas of strategic partnership between the two countries.

The meeting participants reviewed the progress of major energy projects in Uzbekistan involving leading Japanese companies. In particular, they discussed projects in the field of electricity generation, the development of power transmission lines, and the modernization of the country's gas transmission system infrastructure.

Following the talks, the parties agreed to further promote mutually beneficial projects and consistently develop close cooperation in the energy sector.
