Uzbekistan and DowGene discussed cooperation in biotechnology
Uzbekistan and South Korean company DowGene discussed the development of molecular diagnostics, technology transfer, and production localization.

Uzbekistan and the South Korean company DowGene Co., Ltd. held talks on potential cooperation in biotechnology and molecular diagnostics, according to the Agency for the Development of the Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry.
The meeting took place as part of a working visit by an Uzbek delegation to the Republic of Korea, led by the Agency's Director, Abdulla Azizov.
During the discussions, the parties addressed issues related to genetic and molecular diagnostics, DNA analysis, as well as the possibility of localizing the production of advanced diagnostic products and technology transfer. The prospect of joint research projects was also discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the introduction of cutting-edge diagnostic technologies in Uzbekistan, deepening scientific and practical cooperation in biotechnology, and the application of innovative approaches in medical practice.
DowGene representatives were provided with detailed information about the modern production and research infrastructure being created at BioPharma City. The delegation, in particular, discussed opportunities available to foreign companies, including the establishment of research and development (R&D) centers, the production of innovative products, and the implementation of technology transfer projects.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue to develop practical cooperation in biotechnology and molecular diagnostics, develop joint projects, and implement promising initiatives.
