Uzbekistan and Belarus discussed cooperation in pediatric oncology and pharmaceutical production

Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Natalya Petkevich held a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan — Chairperson of the Family and Women Committee Dilnozakhon Kattakhonova. The discussion focused on the development of cooperation in pediatric oncology, pharmaceuticals, and inclusive education.

During the talks, the Belarusian side outlined the capabilities of the national medical care system for children with oncological and hematological diseases, as well as congenital immunodeficiencies.

Modern high-tech treatment methods are used at the Belarusian Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology. These include hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, minimally invasive and organ-preserving surgeries, CAR-T therapy, and the use of DNA vaccines.

A separate topic of the meeting was the prospects for joint projects in the production of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Natalya Petkevich emphasized Belarus's readiness to share advanced technologies and scientific developments.

At the same time, as the Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister noted, achieving maximum practical effect requires a mutual exchange of competencies and contributions from both sides.

Another topic of the negotiations was inclusive education. The Belarusian side presented its experience in organizing the education of children with special psychophysical development needs. According to the presented data, more than 75% of such children in the country study in regular educational institutions under integrated conditions.

Belarus is also developing special educational institutions and centers for correctional and developmental training and rehabilitation. In particular, a domestic training complex for sensory integration of children with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities was developed this year. The equipment was delivered to 24 specialized centers.

The meeting served as a platform to discuss potential areas for exchanging experience and expanding bilateral cooperation in healthcare, medical technologies, and support for children with special educational needs.
