Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan Discuss Internal Affairs Cooperation

Uzbekistan Interior Minister Aziz Tashpulatov met Azerbaijan Ambassador Rashad Mammadov to discuss law enforcement cooperation.

Uzbekistan's Minister of Internal Affairs, Aziz Tashpulatov, held a meeting with Rashad Eynaddin ogly Mammadov, the recently appointed Ambassador of Azerbaijan, on August 20, 2026. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan reported that the discussion centered on fostering bilateral cooperation in law enforcement.

Both parties acknowledged the continuous strengthening of amicable relations, mutual confidence, and the strategic alliance between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

The primary focus of their talks was collaboration in upholding public order and safety. Officials explored the exchange of operational knowledge in addressing crime, terrorism, extremism, transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, and cybercrime.

At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives from both nations reiterated their dedication to enhancing cooperation between their internal affairs agencies and identified future initiatives to further bilateral engagement.
