Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan consider joint production of motor and jet fuel

Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are exploring the possibility of jointly manufacturing motor and jet fuels.

According to Khodjaev, who spoke with Uzbekistan 24, energy collaboration between the two nations is expanding in multiple directions.

One initiative centers on the exploration and extraction of hydrocarbons in the Ustyurt Plateau. Another aims to transport renewable energy produced in Uzbekistan to European markets, a collaborative effort involving Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.

Additionally, there's a proposal for Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan to set up joint production facilities for petroleum products, specifically motor and jet fuels, to cater to the Uzbek market.

Khodjaev mentioned that Uzbekistan might become a partner in a new oil refinery being built in Azerbaijan, with a portion of its output destined for Uzbekistan. He also alluded to potential partnerships concerning existing oil refineries in Uzbekistan.

The minister indicated that such cooperation could lead to a more consistent supply of petroleum products for Uzbekistan's internal market.

Khodjaev further highlighted the prospect of exporting renewable electricity from Uzbekistan to Europe via Azerbaijan, as part of the broader partnership that includes Kazakhstan.
