Uzbekistan and ADB discussed the development of semiconductor and microelectronics production
On October 6, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov held a meeting with the Country Director of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in the republic, Kanokpan Lao-Araya.
The talks were also attended by the Bank's Head of Country Operations Mirzo Iskandar Gulyamov, ADB Senior Economist Sherzod Akbarov, and other officials.
The parties discussed the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, the development of ongoing joint initiatives, and the promotion of promising projects. The participants paid special attention to the opportunities for developing the semiconductor and microelectronics sector, building the country's innovative potential, as well as the prospects for attracting international experience and technical assistance in this area.
During the dialogue, the parties also reviewed issues of the effective implementation of artificial intelligence technologies in economic processes, accelerating digital transformation, and implementing infrastructural and socio-economic projects based on public-private partnerships with expanded private sector participation.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to continue practical cooperation and joint work on new initiatives contributing to the economic and technological progress of Uzbekistan.
