The Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund approved 37 projects totaling over $100 million, creating around 900 jobs, according to Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev.

The Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund has given the green light to 37 projects, collectively valued at more than $100 million, spanning various economic sectors and projected to generate around 900 new employment opportunities. This information was shared by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev during an interview with the Dunyo Information Agency.
The fund is actively channeling investments into a wide array of economic domains, such as textiles, energy, logistics, manufacturing, urban infrastructure, and the upgrading of public transportation systems.
Kulubaev characterized the fund's activities as an exemplary instance of effective bilateral cooperation, unfolding amidst the broader expansion of economic connections between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Since the start of 2026, the volume of trade between the two neighboring countries has surged by 45 percent, reaching $624.6 million.
The Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund was created through an intergovernmental accord signed by Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in Tashkent on March 11, 2021. This agreement became effective after both nations completed their internal ratification processes later that year, with Uzbekistan's presidential decree ratifying the treaty on November 3, 2021.
The fund officially commenced its operations on April 14, 2022, in Bishkek. Its mandate is to provide financing for collaborative investment projects in areas like industrial production, agriculture, transportation, and other key economic sectors.
The primary aims of the fund encompass strengthening economic collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, bolstering the modernization and expansion of Kyrgyzstan's economy, and fostering a more efficient utilization of bilateral commercial prospects.
Furthermore, the fund endeavors to cultivate an environment conducive to bilateral trade, boost overall trade volume, diversify the composition of trade, and advance long-term economic integration.
Financial assistance is directed towards self-sustaining projects within critical sectors of the Kyrgyz economy. To achieve these objectives, the fund offers commercial loans, equity investments, and other financial tools to legal entities registered and operating within Kyrgyzstan.
