Uzbek Actor and Director Abdumannon Ubaydullayev Dies at 86
Uzbek actor, director and teacher Abdumannon Ubaydullayev has died at the age of 86, the Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan said.
Renowned Uzbek actor, director, and educator Abdumannon Ubaydullayev has passed away at 86, as announced by the Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan.
Ubaydullayev rose to prominence following his role in Zulfiqar Musakov's 2006 film *Homeland*, when he was 66 years old. His subsequent film credits included *Luck*, *The Last Moment*, *Deceived Soul*, and *The Hut*, in addition to various television series appearances.
Prior to his acting career, Ubaydullayev served as a director for children's radio and later for the Kashkadarya Region theatre. He also created the radio magazine *Tabassum* (Smile).
He held a Candidate of Sciences degree in art studies, was recognized as an Honoured Youth Worker, and taught in the Department of Sound Directing and Cinematography at the State Institute of Arts and Culture.
In a 2023 interview with Kun, Ubaydullayev stated, "If there is knowledge that you have accumulated with such great effort, someone should receive it from you." He also shared that he chose directing when applying to the Institute of Culture, believing that the director guides the actors' work.
