US rapper BigXthaPlug arrested on drug and gun charges
The rapper, who has faced similar charges in the past, had been due to perform at the Country Rising Festival.

American rapper BigXthaPlug, known for his performances at last year's Wireless festival and an upcoming album, has been apprehended in Texas on drug and weapon-related offenses.
The Dallas-based artist, whose real name is Xavier Landum, 28, was taken into custody on Friday. Allen County Police confirmed to BBC Newsbeat that he faces charges of driving while intoxicated, marijuana possession, and unlawful firearm possession. He is currently detained at Collin County Jail.
This arrest marks a repeat offense, as he was out on bail following similar charges a year prior.
BigXthaPlug, recognized for his southern hip-hop, trap, and country-rap style, gained prominence with hit singles like "Texas," "The Largest," and "Mmhmm."
The Allen Police Department, who made the arrest, also released his mugshot.
Recently, the rapper had hinted on Instagram about new music releases and was scheduled to perform at the Country Rising festival on Friday. However, organizers announced on their Instagram that he would no longer be performing "due to a personal emergency."
BigXthaPlug performed at the UK's Wireless Festival in 2025, shortly before the release of his most recent album.
In August of last year, he was arrested on charges of unlawful weapon possession and a minor amount of marijuana, a case that remains ongoing. He also faced comparable charges in 2022.
