Umarali Rahmonaliyev's team may play UCL matches in Azerbaijan's largest stadium

Azerbaijan's "Sabah" club, which has qualified for the general group stage of the UEFA Champions League, may play its home matches at the Baku Olympic Stadium. This was announced by the head of the club's press service, Elnur Hamidov, in an interview with the Offside Plus publication.

"There is no definite news regarding the stadium issue yet. Currently, we have booked the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. However, other options are also being considered. If there is any news on this matter, detailed information will be provided to the public," Hamidov said.

Thus, the Baku Olympic Stadium is also being considered as one of the potential options for "Sabah's" home matches in the Champions League. Negotiations on this matter are ongoing.

For information, Umarali Rahmonaliyev, a midfielder for the Uzbekistan national team, plays for the Azerbaijani club "Sabah". The team is participating in the UCL for the first time. According to the draw results, the "owls" will face strong teams such as "Arsenal", "Barcelona", "Borussia Dortmund", "Manchester United", and "Napoli" in the group stage.

The Azerbaijanis will play against the "red devils" at the "Old Trafford" stadium in the first round of the league stage.

The first-round matches of the tournament are scheduled for September 8–10.
