UK economic growth slows between April and June
The UK economy grew by 0.4% with some firms reporting hot weather and sports helped growth in June.
Britain's economy experienced a deceleration in growth, expanding by 0.4% from April to June, official figures reveal. This rate, which aligns with economists' forecasts, marks a decrease from the 0.6% growth observed in the initial quarter of the year.
The manufacturing industry was a primary driver of growth during the second quarter. However, the Office for National Statistics noted that certain businesses indicated that "good weather and sporting events may have had a positive effect" on their performance in June.
