UFC. Islam Makhachev successfully defended his championship belt by defeating Ian Gerry

The main fight of the UFC 330 mixed martial arts tournament held at the Xfinity Mobile arena in Philadelphia, USA, was between the welterweight champion, Russian Islam Makhachev, and Irish Ian Gerry.

This fight for the championship belt lasted a full five rounds. In the end, the judges unanimously declared Islam Makhachev the winner.

With this victory, the total number of victories of the Russian fighter in MMA reached 29 (he has one defeat). Recall that Islam held his previous fight against Australian Jack Della Maddalena at the UFC 322 tournament in New York, where he also won. Ian Gerry, on the other hand, suffered his second defeat in his career (17 victories).

Also, Makhachev extended his streak of consecutive victories in the UFC to 17, surpassing legendary Brazilian fighter Anderson Silva and becoming the absolute record holder in the history of the promotion.
