Uzbekistan beats Bangladesh in U-20 Asian Cup qualifiers
The qualifiers for the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup in China have begun. The National Football Center is hosting the Group B matches, which will feature the U-20 national team. The team, led by Jamoliddin Rahmatullayev, defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in the first round.
During the match, Kuvonishbek Saydaliyev scored in the 20th minute and Kuvonchbek Abrayev in the 47th minute.
Uzbekistan will next play against India on September 3 and Syria on September 6.
According to reports, this qualifying tournament will be held in China from March 24 to April 10, 2027. The group winners and the seven best runners-up from the qualifying round will qualify for the main tournament.
A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament. The top four teams, along with host Uzbekistan, will qualify as representatives of the Asian Football Confederation for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Uzbekistan, as co-hosts of the tournament, will automatically qualify for the junior tournament.
