Two women from Fergana were attempted to be sent to Moscow for prostitution

In Fergana, officers of the State Security Service (SGB) and the Department of Internal Affairs (OVD) thwarted a human trafficking attempt. The perpetrator intended to send two women to Moscow, offering them earnings from providing sexual services.

According to law enforcement agencies, a 33-year-old previously convicted resident of Fergana offered two women to go to the Russian capital and earn money there by providing sexual services.

The man promised to pay for their plane tickets at his own expense. In return, after their arrival in Moscow, he demanded that they hand over half of the money they earned to him.

The criminal plan was stopped during an operational event. The man was detained at the Fergana International Airport at the moment he was sending the women to Moscow.

A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect. An investigation is underway. Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.

This is not the first case of a failed attempt to send women to other countries for prostitution — previously, law enforcement officers thwarted several attempts to transport them to Turkey.
