Two in court over teens' Thailand drug courier case

**Two Face Court in Connection with Teenagers' Thailand Drug Courier Case**
Two individuals have appeared in court, accused of involvement in an international drug ring that allegedly exploited teenagers as couriers to Thailand.
Tremaine Jeanne and Jessica Sani, both 28, are facing charges related to drug offenses and conspiracy to arrange travel for exploitation. They are accused of using two 17-year-olds as drug couriers. The teenagers, from Cardiff, were reportedly apprehended in Thailand in June with 64kg (141lb) of cannabis concealed in their suitcases while returning to the UK. They remain in custody in Thailand, receiving support from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Last Friday, four other individuals appeared at Cardiff Magistrates' Court in connection with the case. Additionally, a 23-year-old man from Keighley, West Yorkshire, arrested on suspicion of improper importation of controlled drugs, has been released on bail.
Jeanne, from Llanrumney, and Sani, from Newport, are specifically charged with conspiring to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of a class B drug and four counts of conspiring to arrange or facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation.
Appearing via videolink, Jeanne and Sani confirmed their personal details but were not required to enter pleas. They have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear alongside their co-accused at Cardiff Crown Court on September 4.
South Wales Police initiated an investigation into the "circumstances" surrounding the teenagers' trip after being informed of their arrest in June. A force spokesman confirmed that the children are still in custody in Thailand, where they are being supported by their families and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The families have been updated regarding the recent arrests and charges.
