Trump's son-in-law to visit Israel

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner will visit Israel next week, Bloomberg reported.

Kushner will discuss the situation in the Gaza Strip during his visit. His trip comes after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected the US's 15-point peace plan. The peace plan calls for the disarmament of Hamas, the transfer of the Gaza Strip to a new Palestinian government and a complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory.

"Kushner may also visit other countries in the Middle East to discuss the Gaza plan," the anonymous US official said.

Another source said Trump's son-in-law will also meet with mediators for Gaza from Egypt, Qatar and Turkey. Netanyahu said at a weekly cabinet meeting on August 9 that the Israel Defense Forces will not leave Gaza until Hamas is disarmed. Hamas has said it will hand over its weapons to the new administration in Gaza if Israel withdraws its troops and a Palestinian state is established.

The new administration is expected to allow some Palestinians to keep their firearms. The initial ceasefire in Trump's peace plan was reached in October 2025.
