US President Donald Trump's press secretary Caroline Levitt has announced that she is leaving her position. She made the announcement on her social media account.

Levitt said she was leaving to spend more time with her two children. She gave birth to her second child, daughter Vivian, in May and returned to work after a short leave of absence. Levitt also has a two-year-old son.

"When I returned to the White House after my daughter was born, I felt with all my heart that I would not be able to be a good mother to my two young children if I devoted the time, energy and attention that the position of press secretary required," Levitt wrote.

She thanked the US president for "the special trust he has given me to speak on his behalf." Trump also thanked her for her work as White House press secretary, calling her a "true leader" in the White House. The US president has not yet announced who will replace Levitt.

Levitt, who is currently 28 years old, is the youngest White House press secretary. She was also press secretary for Trump's 2024 re-election campaign and is one of the most prominent supporters of the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement.
