US President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine have agreed not to strike each other's energy facilities. However, Moscow and Kyiv have not yet officially confirmed the existence of such an agreement.

The White House leader said that the rise in diesel prices in the world was caused primarily by the war between Russia and Ukraine, and not by the events around Iran.
This statement was made against the backdrop of a sharp increase in diesel fuel prices — the average price in the US exceeded $6 per gallon for the first time in history.
A day earlier, Trump openly called on Zelenskyy to stop strikes on Russian oil refineries (refineries) and diesel depots, saying: "There are plenty of other targets. Don't touch the diesel. It hurts the whole world."
In recent months, Ukraine has been regularly striking oil refineries in Russia using long-range drones, which has reduced fuel production and led to gasoline shortages inside the country.
Kyiv has stated that it considers refineries to be legitimate military targets, while Ukraine itself continues to suffer from Russian attacks on its energy system.
Importantly, Moscow and Kyiv have not yet officially confirmed the existence of such an agreement.
This statement was announced only by Trump, and it did not provide any details about the duration, monitoring, or compliance mechanism of the agreement.
Similar statements about a partial truce on energy facilities have been made before (for example, in the spring of 2025 after Trump's negotiations with Putin) — even then, the agreement did not last long and was not fully implemented.
