Trump threatens to jail those who leak information about US ammunition

US President Donald Trump has denied reports that the country is experiencing a shortage of key ammunition amid a war with Iran, insisting that supplies are sufficient and warning that those who spread such information will be held accountable.

“The US has a very large stockpile of weapons, especially of certain types. In addition, large quantities of weapons are being produced and delivered to the United States when needed. Defense companies are building the largest number of factories and plants in the history of our country,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump also added that those who leaked this information are being sought and will face long prison sentences. This statement was made after reports in the US media that the administration had postponed additional strikes on Iran due to the depletion of long-range missiles.

The Washington Post reported that Trump clashed with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth during a Cabinet meeting at Camp David, Maryland, last week over the critical shortage of ammunition that is limiting military capabilities against Iran.

Trump has said he thought the ammunition shortage problem had already been resolved. Hegseth tried to justify himself to the president, blaming his deputy, Stephen Feinberg, for not being given enough information. White House press secretary Caroline Levitt responded to the reports by saying that this did not happen at the meeting at Camp David.
