Trump plays golf in defense of air defense system due to various risks

Trump golfs under air defense protection

US President Donald Trump is now using the protection of the army's air defense system while playing golf. According to Bild, photos taken from his golf course show the Avenger system installed a few meters from where the head of state is standing.

The Avenger system is operated by more than a dozen military personnel. This military equipment is armed with Stinger missiles and is designed for combat operations. According to American media, this system may be deployed to protect against possible drone attacks.

These additional security measures are due to Trump's previous several assassination attempts. In July 2024, a sniper injured his ear during the election campaign. Also, a gunman was later captured at his golf course in Florida. Amid the US war on Iran, officials are also concerned about possible retaliation by Tehran.

It was recently reported that planes flying over Trump's golf club were stopped. The airspace over Bedminster, New Jersey, where the president's private golf club is located, is temporarily restricted. On August 9, F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to intercept any planes that failed to comply with the restriction. As a result, civilian aircraft were escorted to a safe area.
