Traffic police warn of scam claiming to erase drivers' penalty points
The Road Safety Service has warned drivers about fraudsters claiming they can erase penalty points from the country's traffic violation database in exchange for payment, stressing that the system cannot be manipulated.
Traffic authorities are issuing a warning about a fraudulent scheme that purports to remove penalty points from driver records.
The Road Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that individuals are now peddling "services" for a fee, falsely claiming they can expunge drivers' penalty points from the official government database.
Zoyir Yuldoshev, who heads the press service for the agency, stated that the penalty point system functions autonomously and is completely secure from unauthorized entry. He emphasized that there is no manual way to delete or modify these records.
Yuldoshev pointed out that these fraudsters are promoting their schemes via Telegram channels. They are using fabricated conversations and videos, featuring supposedly content clients, to persuade users that their service is legitimate and effective.
One such video shows a man asserting that, following his payment, all his penalty points vanished from government platforms like my.gov.uz, as well as from the system utilized by traffic police.
The Road Safety Service has declared these assertions to be untrue and is advising the public to disregard such propositions. Drivers who encounter these types of schemes are encouraged to promptly report them to the internal affairs authorities.
Yuldoshev also disclosed that over 700 drivers have already accrued more than 12 penalty points. Legal proceedings to revoke their driving licenses are currently in progress, in line with existing laws.
