Toddler died after he was found in pool on holiday
A two-year-old boy died after he was found unresponsive on a holiday in Spain, an inquest hears.
An inquest has heard that a two-year-old boy tragically died five days after being discovered unresponsive in a swimming pool at a holiday villa in Spain.
Hartley Wareham, from Ottery St Mary, Devon, passed away on 3 July. He had been found in the pool of a villa where family and friends were staying, according to evidence presented at Exeter Coroner's Court.
The inquest was told that Hartley's father retrieved him from the water and commenced CPR. His mother then took over the resuscitation efforts, while neighbours contacted emergency services for an ambulance. Paramedics managed to restore his heartbeat and he was transported to hospital, where he received intensive treatment. However, his condition subsequently worsened.
Area Coroner Alison Longhorn stated that the causes of death included immersion in water, sepsis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. The inquest has been adjourned to a later date.
