For evacuation tasks
The Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has presented the first C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft destined for the Air Force of Uzbekistan.
In the images published by the company, the aircraft is shown in a gray livery with the inscription "UZ AIR FORCE", the flag of Uzbekistan, and the country's Air Force roundels. The tail section bears the number UK 39010.
"Today, Embraer presents the first C-390 Millennium aircraft of the Uzbekistan Air Force, making the Republic of Uzbekistan the first C-390 customer in Central Asia," the company said in a statement.
Uzbekistan's acquisition of the C-390 Millennium became known in February at the Singapore Airshow international air exhibition. At that time, Embraer announced that Uzbekistan was the previously undisclosed customer for these aircraft. The planes are primarily intended for transport and humanitarian missions. The number of C-390s ordered by Uzbekistan and the contract value were not disclosed.
Currently, the Uzbekistan Air Force operates Il-76 and CASA C-295 military transport aircraft.
Reference: The C-390 Millennium is a military transport turbojet aircraft with a payload capacity of up to 26 tons. Its maximum cruising speed is about 870 km/h. The aircraft is capable of transporting troops and cargo, airdropping equipment and personnel, performing medical evacuation, search and rescue, and humanitarian operations, as well as firefighting. It is adapted to operate from temporary and unpaved runways, among others. The KC-390 version, equipped with quick-change equipment, can be used for aerial refueling of other aircraft, as well as receiving fuel itself during flight.
