A special legal regime called "Entering Business Without a License" came into effect in Uzbekistan on August 13, significantly simplifying the process of starting a commercial activity. This new mechanism allows entrepreneurs to quickly begin operations in certain areas, deferring the acquisition of mandatory licenses and permits until a later date.

Now, to start a business, all that's required is to notify the authorized agency free of charge through the Unified Portal of Interactive Government Services or a specialized electronic system. From the moment the application is submitted, the entrepreneur is entitled to operate for three months without fear of liability for the absence of permits.

During this grace period, the entrepreneur is required to fully comply with legal requirements and obtain all necessary documents. Otherwise, operations in this area must be terminated. This initiative is intended to reduce administrative barriers, expedite the launch of new projects, and optimize business interactions with government agencies.

As a reminder, Uzbekistan has also updated its real estate regulations. Realtors are now required to undergo training, pass a qualification exam, and obtain a certificate. Only specialists and agencies included in the unified register will be able to officially operate.
